Wild by Cheryl Strayed is my favorite book AND movie of all times! It’s so real and is relatable on so many levels. Cannot wait to buy it on DVD when it is released! Rock climbing is my life!! I will be doing a semester with NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) starting in August 2015 and there’s a rock climbing portion and I have had my heart SET on Shamans for months now and I haven’t been able to get them yet. I loved WILD, but I thought it really lacked some of the visual impact I thought it was going to have, so I had to go with Into the Wild. Who wouldn’t want to disappear off the grid? Luckily, the movie is a wonderful reminder that being alone isn’t always the answer. BOTH movies inspire me to get out and climb more…and so would these shoes! :)

These shoes do look rad! There are a lot of well done outdoor films but to date, Into the Wild is one of my favorites. It has emotional depth and shows struggles both mental and physical, while also being filmed within scenery that is breath taking.

I thought that The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is one of the best outdoor adventure movies because of the relatable storyline. Everyone wants to have “that” job which takes us on an adventure we could only dream about. The main character in this movie got the chance to experience an adventurer’s spontaneous lifestyle. Such an inspiration. I cried, haha

I just recently got into bouldering and am looking to expand my horizons in the field. I love the atmosphere of most climbing gyms and am so happy to be a part of the community. In the early fall I will be taking a climbing trip through Europe and these would be awesome!

127 hours was the first outdoor adventure movie I ever saw when I was in high school in my Literature of the outdoors class. His story is amazing and the fact that he didn’t give up and kept on going even when he thought he was going to die is such an inspiration to me. It also reminds me how to be prepared and safe while climbing.
