CycloFemme’s Ride with the Girls

When it came to the marriage between women and two-wheeled transport, Susan B. Anthony had some strong ideas. “Let me tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world. It gives women a feeling of freedom and self-reliance. I stand and rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel…the picture of free, untrammeled womanhood.”

With this symbiotic relationship in mind, Boulder-based CycloFemme has created a platform that has inspired organized women’s rides across the country—and around the world—this Sunday, May 13th.  CycloFemme’s effort, which has spawned over 100 organized rides of all skill levels in 10 countries, is being dubbed as the first global day of women’s cycling.

The goal: “To Honor the Past, Celebrate the Present, and Empower the Future of women in cycling.” Right on.

To join the celebration, check out CycloFemme’s site for details on a ride near you.
