As reported by the BBC News, a recent Environmental Science and Technology study found that greening “urban canyon” walls reduces air pollution levels by an impressive 30 percent. Seas on the Rise. Sea level rise is a major concern in the international climate change discussion, especially as it pertains to the plight of low-lying island nations, as reported by the New York Times.  Unexpectedly, a new study by the United States Geological Survey found that some of the fastest-rising tides are much closer to home—the U.S. East Coast. National Geographic reports that sea level rise between Cape Hatteras North Carolina and Boston is three to four times the global average.
