Eye Candy: Steph Davis and Moab

Moab’s vaulting, rich red spires are the centerpiece of this spectacular video, which captures climber Steph Davis‘ epic quest to free climb and BASE jump off a series of behemoth rock towers, creating a circle of passion.

A Perfect Circle is a beautiful, inspiring account of Davis’ climbing background and her journey in 2011 to complete the ascent and flight down from the ring of towers in Utah’s Moab region. It also highlights her highly dangerous yet calculated alternative (not to mention, vegan and simple) lifestyle. The short film was shot and produced by 3 Strings Media, a collaboration between Davis, her husband and partner Mario Richard, and some key climbing friends.

Davis is one of the most respected and daring rock climbers in the world; she made the first female free ascent of Salathe Wall on Yosemite’s El Capitan in 2005. She’s also nabbed first ascents in South America, the Karakorum, and the Arctic. This daring lady has also has made hundreds of BASE jumps, including wingsuit flights.

While this video runs close to 30 minutes, it’s time well wasted. You’ll walk away amazed, inspired, and perhaps a bit more grounded than ever before.
